Boeing Improves Fuel Efficiency in Single Isle Aircraft Market

Boeing is to improve the fuel efficiency in single isle aircraft with the advent of their new 737 engine family.  The new engines will also be available to retrofit into existing 496 aircraft, too. IBM Unveils New Cloud Based on Cast Iron Acquisition

IBM has unveiled a new “hybrid cloud” solution which is based on their technology gained from their Cast Iron acquisition. IBM acquired Cast Iron and approximately 75 of their employees on May 3rd, 2010. bpTT Begins Natural Gas Production at Serrette Field

BP Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT) has announced that they have begun natural gas production at the Serrette field which is offshore of Trinidad. bpTT says that the natural gas is being produced at 280 feet under water off Trinidad’s south east coast and that the company holds one hundred percent interest in production at the field. Skymark Airlines Takes Delivery of Two Boeing 737-800’s

Japanese flight carrier, Skymark Airlines, has received delivery of a pair of new Boeing 737-800 aircraft. GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS) announced delivery of the pair of Boeing 737-800 aircraft today in a statement.  GECAS has a standing order book deal with Boeing from which the aircraft come from. The Republic of Korea Air Force has received three additional F-15K Slam Eagle’s on August 20th, 2011, as South Korea continues to bolster their fighter jet arsenal. GE is Bookrunner of $300 Million Loan to Entegra Power Group

General Electric is the bookrunner of a joint effort in providing $300 million dollars in senior secured credit facilities to Entegra Power Group who uses natural gas plants to provide electricity to customers in southeastern and southwestern USA. Other companies in the effort include WestLB, Union Bank along with BNP Paribas CIT which will serve as joint lead arrangers. Royal Dutch Shell plc Initiates Share Buyback Plan

Royal Dutch Shell plc has announced today that they are planning to buyback shares.  The company noted that the share buyback was made possible by shareholders voting in favor of it at the 2011 Annual General Meeting.
